Nate: +1 Zach, I hate it when I'm collecting money for touring bands and kids say they have no money to give yet they have a half-rack under their arm. It annoys the shit out of me that at "benefit shows" there's more money being given to corporate alcohol companies than to the beneficiaries of the benefit.

Nate: Dang, I had written up a whole long thing with statistics about how show costs haven't even come close to following inflation while the minimum wage has surpassed it and gasoline costs for touring bands has WAAAAAY surpassed it. So, in summary, be glad you aren't paying the $11 for shows that you would be if it had. Ride a bike, save the money you would spend on gas/insurance/licensing/maintenance, give it to the touring bands you like.

The Coop: The Coop operates as a safe space which means that nobody has to tolerate hateful speech within our walls or projects. Nobody should have to choose how much power to apply to a word when hate talk has no business in the world in the first place. We don't need that in our lives, in the scene and i definitely won't have it in my home. Tolerating intolerance is not 'punk', it's stupid. (Aside: Bugs Bunny was Racist?)
