    MTV (EmptyTV) nods a sulute to Portland

    Empty-TV gives it up for Portland with a few small vignettes on the incredible PDX scene.. They focus on the standard hip bands like StarFucker, YACHT, Southern Belle and the oh-so obvious Thermals but also reach out to the always awesome band Eat Skull.. This is not exactly a good representative cross-section on the many genres and sub-scenes that Portland has to offer but it's still kind of cool.. PC-PDX.com : Portland Show Guide Next time how about something including Autistic Youth, Red Dons, Estranged and the rest of the punker scene?

    Summerfector : Punk as Fuck

    Today kicks off the Defectors Summerfector madness.. This is a series of shows happening over the next four days at locations all over town, mostly all-ages.. What really makes this a bad ass fest is that there are two generator shows happening.. One at Burnside Skate park on Sunday and another one at Overlook Park in NE complete with all the legal premits for both noise and booze.

    PDX Pop Now! -- Portland's premier DIY music festival, compilation and music advocacy organization - has announced the track listing for this year's compilation and plans for the CD Release Benefit Show.. PDX Pop Now!'s recent sold-out "Make It Pop!" fundraiser saw performances by James Mercer of the Shins, Brandon Summers of the Helio Sequence, Marty Marquis of Blitzen Trapper, Ryan Sollee of The Builders & The Butchers, Loch Lomond and live video DJing by Dantronix and raised $4,000 for PDX Pop Now!. We generated $100 and bought three military intermediate grade bags rated to 10 to 20 degrees Fahrenheit at a discount from Andy & Bax and donated them to the "Red Door" at the Down Town Chapel.. Everyone thought the fund raiser went well so we decided to do it again.. In December we had another fund raiser and generated $200 and bought and donated six of the same sleeping bags.

    FU: The best ALL AGES venue in portland - it's new, it's the Factory Underground

    Let's start with the bad : they're north.. Wicked North.Everything else at the Factory Underground is pandas and puppies and fireworks and punk rock rainbows - this place is awesome.. Bands, coffee, cute girls running an art gallery that doesn't suck (really -it doesn't suck!), a half-pipe(?!),I grew up in small towns(s) midwest and if we weren't getting kicked out of wall-mart (the intercom is [*]+[0]+[3] by-the-way), we were sitting at Denny's, chain smoking, drinking coffee and talking about opening up the coolest place in the universe...some sort of punk rock coffee shop with half-pipes and all of our favorite bands.. It's pretty crazy just how closely the Factory Underground resembles everything i ever wanted out of being a trapped in teenager in the boring ass madwest.

    So, this is not Ben but rather pc-pdx, the entity.I wanted to share my love of Laura so consider this hijacked.. When she first played the coop on day one of Resistance Fest Northwest she was there as extension of Bomb The Music Industy! (naturally) and i had never heard her own stuff.. She basically kicked ass and owned it, hard..     Portland music fans will be pleased to find out that PDX Pop Now! has announced the track listing for the eighth installment of their much heralded compilation.. The 2-disc set is stacked with 41 tracks from some of Portland OR's finest musicians.. O Bruxo, Blue Skies For Black Hearts, Swahili, Lost Lander, along with DJ papi chulo and DJ GIGANTE, have been tapped to perform and provide music between bands at this year's CD Release Benefit which will be held June 2nd at Holocene (1001 SE Morrison St.).     East End is closed for at least this weekend due to the fire that took place at the Osborn Building this morning as reported by KATU.. East End will reopen as soon as possible.. How long will depend on the extent of damage inside the bar and show room..     pc-pdx @J - This site is alive as people want it to be since it's a WIKI that anybody can post to. ¤ ¤ The pandemic crushed everything in March 2020. I used to spend a few dozen hours per week (!) tracking shows and keeping the info updated but The Guide now has to rely on awesome homies like Schwartz/No Fun/ ++YOU++ to make use of the WIKI functionality to put the word out here. ¤ D.I.T. :: Do It Together!!
