Limozine are a Punk Rock ‘n’ Roll four piece living in Hammersmith, West London. Singer Dean and guitarist Johnny Zero come from the Midlands and met in Coventry at Cabin Recording Studios through mutual friend and record producer Paul Sampson. During a late night drinking session, Dean and Johnny discovered that they both loved bands like the Cramps, the D4, ACDC, the Stooges and the Ramones. These bands would later become the inspiration for Limozine.
Limozine’s first album ‘Car Crash Casino’ was written by Dean and Johnny in a flat on Hammersmith High Street around 2005. ‘Car Crash Casino’ is eleven tracks of jack hammer rock ‘n’ roll fuelled by cheap booze, punk rock and twisted blues. Dean’s lyrics are inspired by Lux Interior, Bon Scott and Hunter S. Thompson; they’re black humoured, downright Gonzo, and quite possibly, insane.
‘Car Crash Casino’ was recorded and mixed in eight days back in Coventry at Cabin Recording Studios by Paul Sampson, who also played the drums on the album. It includes the current B side single ‘Junkie Girlfriend’. The debut album was released in October 2007 on Cord Records, and is available to download from iTunes.
In late 2008 Limozine became a four piece. Johnny’s good friends Tim and Karl, a drummer and bassist, came to see Limozine play at The Boogaloo, in North London. Like the rest of the packed crowd, Tim and Karl were both blown away by the gig and joined the band there and then: the Limozine line up was complete.
Bassist Karl lives in Hammersmith, but originally comes from New Zealand. He’s a vinyl junkie into the Eagles of Death Metal and Super 8 movies. Drummer Tim is from Shepherds Bush, London. He’s a big fan of the Pixies, Queens of the Stoneage and Californication.
In May 2009, Limozine began gigging regularly around London. They played The Hope and Anchor, The Bull and Gate and The Buffalo Bar, all the time building their following. In June, Limozine were offered a monthly residency at The Albion pub, in Hammersmith. Here they host their own Rockin Bones Klub, where they gig, DJ and book bands that they like to support them.
Limozine’s second album, ‘Evil Love’, is set for release early 2010.
