Lionel Glitchy, aka Ste Kirby, first became interested in electronic music production around 2005. He was a rock music musician as a youth and had a penchant for Prog but always enjoyed listening to IDM producers such as Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Prefuse73 Venetian snares etc. As his curiosity towards synthesised audio developed, he took the time to learn the skills himself. Initially using Reason he quickly made the switch to Ableton Live to more easily incorporate audio and has never looked back.

His first project Kensho adhered to no particular genera as he found his feet learning his craft. Pretty soon the mangled beats of breakcore caught his ear and he teamed up with My Big Ego under the pseudonym Shcrodinger's Cat. The duo had some local success supporting the likes of Scotch Egg and Shitmat. Towards the end of the decade as the dubstep scene grew and became harder, Kirby was drawn in by the allure of the complex textures of the bass tones and began producing some of his own as The Singularity. He also learned how to use Ableton to DJ and played at local club nights until the recession killed off all the decent events!
As the dubstep scene became watered down by the mainstream, Kirby turned his attention towards the budding new glitch-hop scene. Having been interested in glitch hop when it was in it's infancy almost a decade ago he now saw a resurgence on the horizon. This bass heavy iteration seemed like the obvious successor to dubstep and thus Lionel Glitchy was born.
With a handful of productions under his belt Glitchy has had a couple of releases on up and coming underground labels and is a proud member of the Wonkay Fam, Wonkay Records motley crew of bass mechanics! In 2013 he's looking to expand his catalogue of sounds and help spread the infectious glitch-hop sound across the UK!
