2) Systems were a synth-wave act from UK, composed by John ‘Strange’ Hawkins (Vocals,Bass), later of This Island Earth, Kevin Chapman (Guitar), Tony Elson (Drums) and Mike Reed (Keyboards). They released one 7” EP, titled Scenery and two other tracks were featured on the second volume of the classic Street To Street compilations.
3) Systems originated in Tulsa, OK in the beginning of 2010 with eyes set on proving, to themselves and the public, that the underground music scene was not totally commercialized and shallow. With an emphasis on creating a distinct and passionate sound, Systems took their time in the beginning stages of the band in order to carefully craft their songs. This new and upcoming sound that emerged, taken from influences across a broad array of genres, is rich in mature musicianship and passionate messages.
In the summer of 2010, Systems released a self-titled demo which quickly gained attention from fans across the United States. Their first e.p., "The Children Have Grown", will be released in early 2011 and is awaited with much expectation from fans in the United States and internationally. The music on this E.P. has the members of Systems excited, lead vocalist Michael Rowley says: "We are just excited to share our passions and music with anyone who will listen. We are trying to make music that is artistically fulfilling to ourselves, and hope that others find it to be fulfilling and inspiring, as well."
With past members of For Today, The Cherubim Seat and Eureka! making up some of the lineup of Systems, audiences and promoters alike are looking forward to the sound that emerges from this new and upcoming band.
