Begun in Virginia Beach/Norfolk in the early 90's, shoegazers Ultracindy were Dean Henry Rasmussen, Bill Russell, Russ Cook and Josh Kramer. Dean got married and moved to Richmond, and started his band, Secretariat, and Ultracindy picked up Kenny Gatdula. That lineup recorded the one full-length, The Mermaid's Parade. Shortly after the recording, Nathan replaced Kenny. Within a year, most of the band members had moved to Richmond, but didn't continue with Ultracindy.

Bill played with the Richmond band Drunk, and is now in the Washington D.C. based band Motori. Josh is living in Brooklyn. He played a few years with Her Sparkle Dims/Collider and is currently in the band, Pan Am Down, whose debut album "One" is coming out on Imperfect Smile Records on February 17, 2009. Ultra Cindy has just launched a myspace page feature 3 songs from "The Mermaid Parade" and 2 unreleased songs.
