RIP:
It was in summer 2005 when the four remaining members of the group OPHELIA decided to break up the band to take a new musical direction. That was the birth of WRATH OF SANITY. In contrast to OPHELIA, WOS was to be more Hardcore than Metal, to reflect more aggression and authenticity. The result was a nasty mix of brutal mosh flirting with NY-style uptempos, crowd-raging crew-vocals and the striking voice of leadsinger Schuette. WOS were quickly able to make great live impressions playing stages around Germany together with acts like e.g. Shattered Realm, Death Thread, Irate or the Berlin band Final Prayer. After some months and a couple of shows, Norman (guit.) decided to leave the band to do something more relaxed. This is why in August 2005 Schuette (voc.), Joe (guit.) and Chris (dru.) entered the studio as a band of only three to record their first demo. The four songs of the d.i.y.-produced cd got reviews and therefore it was - limited to 250 copies only - quickly no more available, distributed by FUCK.THIS.RECORDINGS and FILLED WITH HATE REC. About a year later (including a little break), bass-player Dave (ex-Make It Count) joined the band to finally complete the line-up. Around the same time WOS signed to the young label WARCITY RECORDS from Potsdam. And there's still much in store for 2006: Beside playing loads of shows, WOS will enter the studio again in winter to record their first MCD, which will be published on WCR in spring 2007.
The Band Split up in 2007!
