Ziya Aytekin is a Turkish musician, living in Sweden and with a large part of Northwestern Europe as his field of activity. A living legend among emigrants from the Near East in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Germany, France and other countries, Ziya is almost unknown to a wider audience. He plays all instruments himself and he has also made most of them: the reed instruments zurna, mey and tulum; the flutes ney and kaval; the rythm instruments darbuka, davul, bongos, def, tamburin and zil.

He plays all instruments himself and he has also made most of them: the reed instruments zurna, mey and tulum; the flutes ney and kaval; the rythm instruments darbuka, davul, bongos, def, tamburin and zil. Also the tunes are Ziyas, either he composed them himself or picked them up along the long road that took him from his home town Savsat on the southern slopes of Caucasus, in Northeastern Turkey, via Trabzon and Istanbul, to Alby, Stockholm, Sweden.
