Alex's Hand started in the catacombs of musical degradation. That may sound deep or insincere, but in reality its the musical world as we know it today. Alex's hand retains the spirit of pushing musical genres to the farthest extreme possible in an attempt to maintain musicianship and compositional progression. Combining jazz, punk, rock, and avant-garde into a seamless mish mash of musical pastiche.
Created in the bowels of Seattle, with members from across washington, Dr. Shark (bassist/vox) met Tub (drums) and Slurrp (guitar) under mysterious circumstances, but their vision of musical complexity, accessibility, and deconstruction followed a singular ideal.
Garnering inspiration from musical acts such as Frank Zappa, The Residents, Mr. Bungle, Mars Volta, Joy Division, The Cure, Mike Patton, Henry Cow, Trey Spruance, The Melvins, The Kinks, 5uu's, The Shining, Pink Floyd, etc, Alex's Hand works hard to preserve the essence of pop and rock forms while presenting their material in new and interesting ways.
Having mastered the art of stage performance, Alex's Hand is known to dawn bizarre (and often times frightening) outfits as part of their shows, taking the audience on mystical rock odysseys that destroy and recreate genres and often times disrupt the space-time continuum in the process.
Alex's Hand has been featured on NW Convergence Zone radio and was nominated for "Artist of the Month" by the Deli Magazine. They are favored by musicians for their intricate compositional prowess and favored by fans for their pop accessibility; they are obtaining fans from across the globe and well on their way to being the next evolution in popular rock music.
