Originating from different locations around the UK and Australia Exit Plan met at the end of 2006 thanks to a healthy dose of overdue fate and a shared ambition to be heard, seeking to create music that would prove there is more to believe in than the current sprawl of tantamount indie careerists. Although the four members all have very different backgrounds, they are united in this goal enough to have each left behind friends, family and the safety of a 'normal' life. Was sitting back and watching the world march by ever really a choice? Not even for a second.
Having spent two months locked away practicing, Exit Plan stormed onto the London unsigned band scene in January 2007 and have consistently taken audiences by surprise ever since – not only by the quality of songs but by the passion with which they are delivered - this is a band who play with such intensity it seems that the very world may dissolve at their feet, this is a band who truly depend on getting their message across - that we have not all been sold short; that there IS more out there; that those who REALLY go looking for it will find it.
On first impressions comparisons are made to Queens of the Stone Age, Muse, Radiohead, The Smashing Pumpkins etc., both in terms of what people hear and the that potential they see. After a few short months of gigging the band have just released a self titled EP, recorded in May. Captured mostly live in a Hackney studio opposite the underground basement flat which Mark and Martyn rent, the Exit Plan EP was recorded over two days and completed quickly after. Punk drums, epic guitars, filthy bass and a soaring vocal. Expect a statement of intent - its time to stop running. Its time to stand up and be counted. Its time to take the world by storm.
