This tag is an abbreviation for US hardcore political punk band Millions of Dead Cops, whose career began as the Stains in Austin Tx in the late 1970's, before moving to San Francisco where their debut record was released on R. Radical Records. Over the years they remained controversial, criticizing practices & bigotry espoused by The Bad Brains, and touring with like minded groups like The Dead Kennedys for the 1984 Rock Against Reagen tour. Never popular with law enforcement, many of the band members have served jail or prison time.

While the core member has remained singer Dave Dictor, at times his cohorts have included drummer Al Schvitz, ex-con Ron, and other band members such as Matt Freeman of Rancid, the late Mikey Donaldson of The Offenders, Bill Callahan from Fang.
