After the release of "Thoughts of June" Sean left the band and moved to London. He was replaced by Abe's brother-in-law Loran Joseph and the band continued to play off and on for the next few years, most notably for Oregon Governor Ted Kulongoski's re-election campaign.
In early 2009 Abe started working on another album in his new home in Trout Lake Washington. This album used local musicians as well as Mateo, Chris, Marian and Loran. However without Sean it was decided to use a different name for this project, The Foothills.
