ROLLER is a straight-up hard rock band from Chicago, Illinois USA. A devil may care, let’s party all night long feeling is what rock music fans get when ROLLER music is in the air. With their powerful, driving, uplifting riffs and grooves, ROLLER induces a kind of euphoric, adrenaline-filled frenzy. Perhaps it’s because ROLLER songs are smothered in an exciting mix of booze, sleazy fun, sex and straight-up ROCK. ROLLER brings to planet earth songs that our rock n‘ roll forefathers and foremothers smile upon and do the nasty to. ROLLER is make lots of love, be yourself, love freedom, have a whiskey, sing as loud as you can, let your wildside loose, forget your problems, buy a round, the world is everyone's oyster, wake n bake, sin a little, and (let's say it one more time) make lots of love all night long MUSIC. When you are hooked up with Rusty Stevens- Lead Vocals/Guitar, Danny Vega- Bass/Vocals, Gary Snooks- Lead Guitars/Vocals and Frank Iffland- Drums, either at one of their almighty live shows or jumping around while listening to their debut CD release, CANDY IT UP, you will feel the intoxicating effect this American foursome delivers.
Craig White (vocals) and Dave Boardman (guitar), both Newcastle born, met in College in Manchester. Craig took up the lead vocal position in Dave's band, where the sparks of a strong musical bond developed. The band set out onto the live scene where they toured the UK extensively. Gigging is the ideal platform to showcase the prolific songwriting talents of Boardman and White , who had already amassed a comprehensive number of quality tracks.
Their own brand of guitar-led rock encompassing melodic harmonies and powerful the vocal range from White caused not only a strong following of their own, but interest from radio and press.
With all the elements in place, Roller began to commit their new sound to tape in the studio. BBC Radio 1 DJ Mark Radcliffe got hold of one of their demos and passed it to label boss Dan Brooks, who jumped at the opportunity to manage the five piece.
Roller have shared the bill with Bob Geldof, Tom Hingley (Inspiral Carpets), Joy Drop, 54-40 and Atomic Kitten as well as joining Spice Girl Mel C for her sold out world tour. In September 2001 they released their debut album, On Top Of This World, they then gigged across Canada three times achieving a peak college radio play position of 7 with their debut album "On Top Of This World".
The latest effort takes you to new places musically and is surely going to establish roller as a solid band with an even bigger future ahead of them. The album entitled "Impossibly Real" will no doubt bring a flock of new fans, and bond them even closer with long established ones. Not forgetting that it is produced by John Kettle who had just finished the new album from NME upstarts "MOKO".
