Serena Olvido (June 28, 1952 - June 10, 2008) was Ursula in the latin version of the film The Little Mermaid. She was an actress and singer with experience in television, film and voiceover. She was born in the city of Monterrey in Nuevo León, Mexico. She was erroneously assigned male at birth, later transitioning to be recognized as female.
She began her career in a comedy sketch show on local television and later ventured into sexomedy films with Gabriel Chávez. In 1989 she lived in Los Angeles and was discovered in performance by Javier Pontón, who proposed to cast her as Ursula because her voice was perfect. She agreed under the condition that she be billed as Serena Olvido rather than her deadname (Ángel Garza).
In 1991 she moved to Mexico, but returned to Los Angeles in 1993 to reprise the role of Ursula for the second season of "The New Adventures Of The Little Mermaid." She did not continue for the third season. This was the last role she played in the entertainment industry.
After her retirement from entertainment, she completed her gender transition. At the age of 56 she succumbed to cardiac arrest, a result of her body having been weakened by kidney disease.
