The Portland Mercury showers StumpClub with love this week with two articles about the Volunteer collective working on opening a new ALL AGES venue here in Portland. Read the articles here:
Ezra Ace Caraeff highlights the efforts of StumpClub with a brief history on their awesome shows and projects and their plans for the future of Portland's music scene including a new non-profit venue. StumpClub is hosting a
show this Saturday at The Coop [3535 N. Lombard] as the CD release for the second volume in their local compilation series featuring 19 of Portland's best bands that include
Panther, Dirty Mittens, All Girl Summer Fun Band and more.
Playing the show this Saturday night are compilation bands Reporter, Experimental Dental School and Teeath. The show will be $5 to benefit the future music space or $8 including the CD individually silk-screened by amazing local artist Alicia Moreland.
StumpClub is working hard to ensure access to live music for all age crowds. It's a small collective of people that are doing a great project to benefit the burgeoning Portland scene. They hold bi-weekly potluck meetings and are always actively seeking and open to new members. If you would like to be a part and are interested in helping in this operation, get in touch through their website StumpClub.org.
