KUFO ADDS PUNK SHOW TO WEEKEND LINE-UP
New Show Debuts on Sunday February 1 at 7pm
(Portland, Oregon) … Rock 101 KUFO is adding to its musical flavor with
the debut of The Punk Show on Sunday, February 1, 2009, hosted by Lisa
Wood and Sarah Dylan. The show will air every Sunday from 7-9pm, just
prior to the increasingly popular local music show, Viva La Luna, which
airs 9-10pm. As a result of this programming change, Viva La Luna host
Lisa Wood will pass the baton as well as the hosting duties on to Crystal
Kash, who has been the show’s producer for the last year.
The Punk Show will shine the spotlight on everything hard, fast and loud
from Black Flag to Hûsker Dû, The Buzzcocks to The Cramps, The Clash to
Bad Brains, The Descendents to Operation Ivy … and this just a sample of
what listeners will be treated to every Sunday night at 7pm. Lisa and
Sarah, both considered aficionados of the genre, will also delve into the
best bands on the local and national punk scene, with interviews, info on
upcoming concert tours, chances to win tickets and other details from
inside the world on punk rock. More information and a live stream of
the show will be available at www.kufo.com.
“There is an appetite for punk rock among the KUFO audience and this is
the perfect way to feature a solid block of it every week,” commented KUFO
Program Director Chris Patyk. “Both Sarah and Lisa are well-versed in the
genre, they know the bands, they go to the shows and really love the
music. It’s hard to ignore that sort of passion and not want to share it
with everyone else. I’m really thrilled to add The Punk Show to our
weekend line-up on KUFO.”
