Lovers
Lovers are the brain child of gifted lyricist and heartbroken hero Carolyn Berk (CUBBY), the doe-eyed, silken voiced vagabond whose intimate tales of love and loss have garnered her overwhelming critical acclaim. Torrents of emotion fill each song on Lovers' sophomore release, The Gutter and the Garden, but an unflinching, underlying kindness runs throughout. Achingly beautiful string arrangements, subtle vocal harmonies, and layered soundscapes create a perfect musical accompaniment to Berk's breath-taking imagery and nuanced narratives.     Help Book PDX Pop Now! 2009

    The sixth annual PDX Pop Now!. Festival of Portland Music is slated totake place in the summer of 2009.. As always, the festival will be afree, all-ages, multi-day, non-profit celebration featuring nearly 50local bands, emcees, laptop wizards, singer-songwriters, noise-mongers, chamber ensembles, crews, audio experimentalists and as-yet-unnamed varieties of musician.The line-up will be determined by a dedicated committee of musiclovers willing to lend their time, energy, thought and enthusiasm toputting together the most mind-bogglingly exciting and stylisticallydiverse bill of Portland music the world has yet seen.. Interested inbeing one of them?No prior experience in booking or event production is required to bea PPN! booking committee volunteer.

John’s one and only free all ages experimental music festival.. This is only the second year of No-Fest, but last year’s festival was a smashing success with artists like Evolutionary Jass Band, White Rainbow and Eternal Tapestry stirring up the crowd.

    PDX Pop Now! CD Release Show and Track Listings Announced

    PDX Pop Now! -- Portland's premier DIY music festival, compilation and music advocacy organization - has announced the track listing for this year's compilation and plans for the CD Release Benefit Show.. PDX Pop Now!'s recent sold-out "Make It Pop!" fundraiser saw performances by James Mercer of the Shins, Brandon Summers of the Helio Sequence, Marty Marquis of Blitzen Trapper, Ryan Sollee of The Builders & The Butchers, Loch Lomond and live video DJing by Dantronix and raised $4,000 for PDX Pop Now!. Tyler Kohlhoff has some pictures from the event here and you can download a yousendit file of Jason Quigley shots of the event here..     PDX Pop Now! Unveils Compilation Track List And Release Show

    Portland music fans will be pleased to find out that PDX Pop Now! has announced the track listing for the eighth installment of their much heralded compilation.. The 2-disc set is stacked with 41 tracks from some of Portland OR's finest musicians.. O Bruxo, Blue Skies For Black Hearts, Swahili, Lost Lander, along with DJ papi chulo and DJ GIGANTE, have been tapped to perform and provide music between bands at this year's CD Release Benefit which will be held June 2nd at Holocene (1001 SE Morrison St.). The cover is $10 and that will include a copy of the 2011 PDX Pop Now!. Compilation CD.
