THE 486 KID is coming out of the cave to show you what it is. Composing music on the same gear for over 10 years, his music is made with trashed, unwanted, obsolete computers, consumer home electronics, and electronic children's toys. All sounds are either pure sound waves generated from hardware sound chips or samples recorded live through mid-90's sound blaster sound cards @ 8-bit 22.5khz. This music is arranged in a "audio tracker" on DOS, ATARI, AMIGA, or COMMODORE micro computers. MIDI is utilized to control NINTENDO NES and GAMEBOY units as a form of 8-bit sound module, or the occasional MIDI enabled circuit bent TI Speak n Spell. Hardware Synthesizers are used rarely but do make an occasional appearance on stage or in the studio.
486 is now going into his 11th year of sonic reconstruction.
It's a set never emulated, and not to be missed.
