2. Aeolus is founded back in 1999 by Michiel Kramp and Jurrie Teeuwen. Raymond van Kooten joined them and they wrote 11 songs for the debut album Dust on the Mirror. Before the CD came out Aeolus gigged a few times, the first gig was initially for a one time occasion, so they asked long time friends Matthijs Hekking, Robin Kern and bassplayer Dave Vergunst. They did a great performance at the Lentepop 2000 festival. After that moment Michiel, Jurrie and Raymond decided to go on with live shows and they asked Matthijs to stay, Chris van ‘t Veer on bass and long time friend Ron Oppelaar guitars. They gigged a few time with this line-up.
After Raymond left the band, Aeolus started a search for a new singer and found one in Bart Fekkes, Ron also left the band and Marco de Neijs joined Aeolus at almost the same time. Aeolus gigged a few times with Bart and Marco, but decided that Aeolus wasn’t Aeolus anymore with Bart, so he left. Aeolus split up and it was dead silence for 2,5 years…
Michiel & Jurrie found a new vocalist in Tijmen van Galen, who is the best match until now, Aeolus is back on track with modern progressiev music. Matthijs joined again, so does Chris. Aeolus is a 5 piece band now and preparing for a new CD and a series of gigs in 2008!
