The Allen brothers are back. After a year of relative quiet on the music front, they are releasing their debut album under the new calling card, “Brother Band.” You likely know the Allens, even if you don’t realize it. Nathan paved a path in the folk music scene throughout Texas and the U.S. with his band Seryn. Hailing out of Denton, TX., the band went on to play big stages across the country and landed placements in commercials and even Disney films. Timothy spent the majority of the last seven years on tour with Shane Smith & The Saints. After countless shows on Sixth Street in Austin, the band began filling rooms all across the nation and eventually secured their place as one of the best live bands in Texas. Having been on the front lines of cutting-edge music for many years, both brothers would dream about a band with no frontman. After writing and recording “Oh Well” primarily in bedrooms and back houses, the Allens wrote a batch of songs, enlisted the help of their long time musical partners, and hunkered down at Trace Horse Studios in Nashville to record the full length debut album Volume 1. This is the first time the two brothers have collaborated on this scale and they are finally making the music they always hoped to create. Could they, in fact, become two of the most reluctant frontmen in music?
