1) Cheap Date is a pop punk band from Toronto, Canada. Best way to describe Cheap Date’s sound? Like a bear wrestling a shark falling from a plane into a volcano. Or, pop-punk, whichever you prefer. Some bands slowly work their way into their sound, but Cheap Date has done the opposite. Within their first year there has been no opportunity for rest. After playing their first show at The Hard Luck last July they have had the chance to perform along side Canadian Punk legends GOB, up-and-coming melodic hardcore punks Such Gold and female powered, Courage My Love. Not to mention performing every young punk’s dream, Vans Warped Tour, this past round on The Lemmon Stage. It hasn’t been all smiles for the boys in Cheap Date. After experiencing member changes and other huge set backs, things were looking down hill. After months of writing new material and solidifying a line-up, things are looking better than ever for the future of this product. What are they doing now, you ask? They’re entering the studio with Derek Hoffman at Fox Sounds to record their first ever EP, set to be released this up-coming fall. 2) Cheap Date is a shoegaze grunge band from Caserta, Italy.
