1) Coins was a collaboration between Chicagoans Ellen Bunch and Angela Mullenhour and was borne out of an impromptu Kinks cover they performed for a show while in between sets of their other bands, Sybris and Reds and Blue. Their debut album, Recital Pressures, was released on cassette and mp3 by Plustapes in 2011 and consists of stripped down, haunted beach folk.

2) Coins is electro/house producer/composer Peter Chapman from Toronto, Ontario. His s/t debut was released on September 6, 2012. Among other releases, Daft Science, an album of Beastie Boys remixes made using only Daft Punk samples was released in 2014 and the game soundtrack to Russian Subway Dogs was released in 2018.
