This is the way the world ends. Not with a bang, but a whimper. -T.S. Eliot
Cursed Lullaby started as a whimper from within the walls of dirty Los Angeles. Since the birth of the band in late 2006, they have taken the L.A. scene like a hurricane, wave after wave and continue to pull their fans with them through a spiral of nightmares and dreams. The world as we know it has ended with the whimper of cursed lullaby turning into a crushing bang and opening a new world of mind blowing musical creation.

The conception of Cursed Lullaby began with the Iceland-native Mandy, approaching drummer Larry Paul with the idea of the most powerful band in the history of the world. Lets fucking do this, and do it right. Soon after, Joel, who had shared strings with Mandy and Larry before, joined on as the crushing and crazy bass player and soon moved onto the guitar. Tim filled the bass position not missing a beat and Cursed Lullaby set out to conquer.
Their debut album SALIGIA, released in May of 2008, begins with an Icelandic Nursery Rhyme; "Modir min I kvi kvi, kviddu ekki thvi thvi. Eg skal lja ther duluna mina, til ad dansa I" but it turns out to be a morbid tale of an old Icelandic folklore tale; a tale of death and deceit. SALIGIA is an acronym combining all the first Latin letters of the seven deadly sins: Superbia, Avaritia, Luxuria, Invidia, Gula, Ira, and Acedia. Each song on the album takes a piece of these sins as the thematic material for the lyrics.
Cursed Lullaby will take you into heavy, surreal melodies with crunching and melodic riffs created by guitarist Joel with bass lines that will tear your chest open from bassist Tim, and vocals that shift from angelic lullabies to demonic screaming whose origins come from deep within a darker place than hell. All of this hellish emotion and musical havoc are held in time by drummer, Larry Paul, with his forceful mind altering beats and fills.
Many peoples first impressions of Cursed Lullaby is "…rage rock with a female lead singer who could actually pull it off. We’re talking vocal power comparable to Courtney Love (and even Courtney never went as hard core as Canada’s all girl metal rage rock band Kittie…).” Some songs, such as Winter Rain have been compared to evanescence among other heavy female fronted bands. “I don’t think this is a bad thing. Mandy’s voice has a higher pitch and definitely edgier than Amy Lee." – (Brooke Trout, Bitchin' Entertainment). Cursed Lullaby is ready to show the world what they are all about and bring their fans to the next level with them. Weaving their music through a collaboration of psychological realms, Cursed Lullaby will take the music industry by storm.
