Like Gandalf the Grey, becoming Gandalf the White, Disko Valante rose from the ashes of Fallopian Tube. After failing to cross the Misty Mountains, Fallopian Tube turned to the underground, attempting to travel through the Mines of Moria. It was there that, tragically and heroically, Jeremy Burton gave his life to protect the rest of the band from the evil Balrog. They battled on the last bridge before the exit to the elvish forest and fell to their death. But the band continued on, in silence and grief, for the duration of the next school year. Stephen Finney also was lost, battling Orcs and protecting Frodo, like that other human besides Aragorn, whose name I forget. He almost gave in to the power of the ring, but ultimately he didn't and so Stephen was remembered as a good guy and we put him in a wooden coffin and sent him over a waterfall. He was replaced by Paul Nkemontoh. During this time the band was physically separated, though their higher goal and close connection never faltered. Joel Buckle and Schuyler Durham were captured by orcs on one occasion, but managed to flee into Fangorn Forest, where they spent time with Ents, learning lessons about patience and passion, before attacking Saruman's fortress at Isengard. It was there that Schuyler Durham began to attempt to fill the charred shoes that Jeremy Burton had left behind as lead singer. At the same time, Kyle Stevens and Seth Pearson rode into Rohan to help the humans. Then Paul stabbed a giant spider in the stomach with some kind of light thing I think. I don't remember too much more of what happened, but in the end Frodo destroys the ring and Disko Valante played a show at the Hawthorne Theatre on August 14, 2011.
