DiTCH, as a band, hasn’t been around for that long, but the individual musicians have been roaming the Dutch music-scene since the 90’s! No newbies. January 2011 guitar player Eric Hazebroek (o.a. The Saturnine, Stream of Passion) rekindled his love the ultimate cult heroes of stoner rock, Kyuss, with a few of his old friends, to show the current generation where bands like Queens of the Stone Age and Them Crooked Vultures came from originally. Together with drummer Rui Duarte (ex-Willow, ex-27WaysToWin) and bass player Douwe de Wilde (ex-Daeonia, The Saturnine) he formed DiTCH. To kick-off 2011 the right way they made a selection of the dirtiest ‘hits’played by Kyuss and Slo Burn. A tribute set to celebrate the formation of a new band. Soon they were joined by David Dressen (Shroom) on vocals, after which they hit the rehearsal room. Stoner Rock as known in the mid 90’s was resurrected on that very spot.
After almost 2 years the band was ready for the next step in their musical lives. To write their own material! Within a record breaking few weeks the band wrote several kicking tracks. 2013 Saw the band venture outside their hometown once more to spread their brand of loud, low-tuned stoner rock. So are you ready to rock?!
DiTCH has got the know-how and the passion; blended together in a steaming live performance filled with recognizable features to the average stoner rock fan from back in the day and the aspiring fan of tomorrow. Gritty, low-tuned guitars, pounding drums filled with that desert groove, and vocals with soul. The band released their debut LP on December 23, 2013 and is available at Bandcamp.
2021 Was the return of the band, with a new line-up and some new songs. The EP "Coldfoot, Alaska" was unleashed and is a sign of what is to come, as the band is aiming to record their second full-length album at the start of 2022.
DiTCH is:
Eric Hazebroek // down-tuned guitar
Douwe de Wilde // vox - bass
Alexander de Goede // drums of doom
