Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini (born October 21, 1995), known professionally as Doja Cat, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer. She is recognized for a style that incorporates elements of hip hop and pop, as well as for her frequent use of online platforms to promote her work.
Doja Cat began releasing music on SoundCloud as a teenager. Her song “So High” led to a recording contract with Kemosabe and RCA Records prior to the release of her debut extended play “Purrr!” in 2014.

Doja Cat began releasing music on SoundCloud as a teenager. Her song “So High” led to a recording contract with Kemosabe and RCA Records prior to the release of her debut extended play “Purrr!” in 2014. Following a period of limited commercial impact for her debut studio album “Amala” (2018), she gained widespread visibility online with the single “Mooo!” (2018). Her second studio album, “Hot Pink” (2019), reached the top ten of the US Billboard 200 and featured the single “Say So,” which topped the Billboard Hot 100 after a remix featuring Nicki Minaj.
Her third album, “Planet Her” (2021), spent an extended period in the top ten of the Billboard 200 and produced the singles “Kiss Me More” (featuring SZA), “Need to Know,” and “Woman.” Her fourth studio album, “Scarlet” (2023), incorporated a more hip-hop-focused approach and entered the top five of the Billboard 200. The lead single “Paint the Town Red” topped the Billboard Hot 100 and the Billboard Global 200. Her fifth studio album, “Vie” (2025), included a return to pop influences and also reached the top five.
Doja Cat has sold millions of records worldwide and has received numerous awards and nominations, including a Grammy Award.
