In late 2006 three close friends from the small town of Barstow, CA got together to create a genre of music that had not yet swept through the local High Desert area. In late 2006 three close friends from the small town of Barstow, CA got together to create a genre of music that had not yet swept through the local High Desert area. This collaboration led to the formation of Duck Duck Goose (DDG), with David Ribera as vocals, Jacob Nichols on guitar, and Joe Rojas on drums. Though they would go through several other band mates on guitar and bass. Added members include; Michael on guitar and Johnny Soto on bass, close friends and fellow musicians of DDG. Duck Duck Goose has been able to persevere, where other bands would have call it quits, and focus on what really matters, their music. Davey, Jacob, Joe, Michael and Johnny have always held music as an important part of their lives, and whether in school marching band or practicing in a garage as part of some other past band, music remains a pivotal part of each of their lives and how they express themselves. While heavy alternative and rock were the main staples of the local music culture they dared to stand out and play what no one else around them was attempting. In what can be described as noise or rage rock; the guys of DDG took a chance and played with the sound that spoke to them instead of what the main stream demanded. They could have bombed, disbanded after a failed first show, but they let their music stand out in its own and show that they were not alone, their creation spoke to the audience as a fresh new sound and gave them the confidence to pursue other audiences outside of that small town crowd. With this new found following DDG took themselves back to the grinding stone and began to filter their creativity through their instruments and lyrics until they were discovered by Roam the River Records and were able to put out their first E.P., Noise, Noise and More Noise, and take themselves on the road for a small nation wide tour in mid 2008. Working and performing through all of 2008 through 2009 DDG has been able to further cultivate their sound while collaborating with their friends, and influential band, the guys of Heavy Heavy Low Low, whom they met while on one of their first tours. DDG parted with their record label in late 2008, but were able to continue with tours and their creative process, taking a break in late 2009 through mid 2010; only so that they could focus and put out their new album, Off Yourself. Duck Duck Goose continues to play shows and go on mini tours while promoting their latest album and trying to visit all their new fans in far off places. The few short years that DDG have been together have proven quite successful for the guys, they continue to work on new music and concepts and hope to find a new label in the future so that they may continue to reach their fans and share their vision and creativity with new people all over the world. With tours coming up throughout the remainder of the year DDG looks forward to seeing their fans and friends, while creating new memories as they carve their path in the music world.
