"Most sounds circulating the modern rock airwaves these days are one-dimensional at best. Not with Element57. Plenty of bands are capable of writing memorable riffs, but this one infuses their thunder with colorful melodies, atypical instrumentation, and form that goes beyond the predictable verse-chorus. With such a broad range of influences, this quintet has produced a very diverse album that’s surely worth a listen."- OURSTAGE***

Recently named an “MTV2 EMERGING ARTIST”...Element57 is a modern rock band the northwest has been brewing since their inception in 2004. A 4-piece powerhouse that has been compared to the likes of Velvet Revolver & Audioslave. While one can immediately tell that the band’s sound is rooted in early 90’s rock, the songwriting, production and arrangements are clearly living in the here and now. The band overflows with energy and still meticulously attends to melody and form. Guitar and saxophone rise and fall over a waterfall of sound and a pounding groove. All of this is led by Chris Galyon’s incredibly dynamic vocals, which somehow simultaneously conjure up both Peter Gabriel and Chris Cornell.
The band’s 2008 release, RIPCORD was picked up by Portland mainstream stations KUFO101.1FM and KNRK94.7FM, 300 college & commercial radio stations nationwide and charted on over 40 CMJ reporting stations. Recently MTV, the E!Channel & Oxygen networks licensed multiple songs off Ripcord (2008) and Radiate (2004) for shows such as The Real World, Road Rules, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Bad Girls Club, The City, Cribs, Teen Cribs, Parental Control, Married to Rock, True life and more...Last year MTV2 chose the band to represent the Portland Music Scene for their Dew Tour series “Rock n Rail” filming and releasing two live videos of the band and gaining airtime on MTV2, Comcast On Demand and NBC Sports. 2011 will bring the 3rd release from the band, a concept, double album that is sure make an impact you’ll never forget.
