The story of Fly Radio began in 2008 when front man Joshua Brooks and Lead Guitarist Derek Wenz began writing and rehearsing songs for local shows in there hometown of Yuba City, CA. The band then known as The Mainland began to receive great underground success in the Sacramento area and in July of 2009 the band kicked off there first tour playing up and down the entire west coast at venues and festivals including The Roxy, The Knitting Factory, The Adams Avenue Street Festival

The story of Fly Radio began in 2008 when front man Joshua Brooks and Lead Guitarist Derek Wenz began writing and rehearsing songs for local shows in there hometown of Yuba City, CA. The band then known as The Mainland began to receive great underground success in the Sacramento area and in July of 2009 the band kicked off there first tour playing up and down the entire west coast at venues and festivals including The Roxy, The Knitting Factory, The Adams Avenue Street Festival, The California Music Festival and The Malibu Music Awards where they received the award for Independent Artist of the Year and shared the stage with Rock and Roll Icons Tom Petty and Grace Slick.
In 2009 a bit of a falling out occurred the band said goodbye to there long time friends and bandmates leaving the band down to Josh and Derek, The two hooked up with long time friend Drummer Eric Dilday and moved to Los Angeles, CA. Determined to make this new dynamic work they began writing and tracking at the brink of 2010. By the time the album was done fate would have Fly Radio run into long time friend Jon Temkin (Self Against City Drive Thru Records) and Matthew Wendtz just at the right time to complete the entire equation of Fly Radio.
There Debut Album "Spectrums" is out now and available online and the band is in works on future tour dates.
