From the Pawn was born on a rainy summer day of 2003 when members from several different Long Island bands wanted to create a specific sound from a mixture of their favorite musical influences. The original lineup was Dom D'Acunto (vocals), Keiji Shibata (guitar), Joseph Fusco (guitar), Anthony DiCocco (bass), Joey Cestone (drums). Early influences included Poison the Well, Love is Red, Age of Ruin, Pink Floyd, On Broken Wings, Comeback Kid, Shai Hulud, and H20.

Almost instantly From The Pawn gained a die hard fan base and has been growing ever since.
In winter of 2004 Dom departed from the band for personal reasons. Gary Michel was then asked by FTP to fill in until a permanent replacement was found. Soon after Gary recorded with From The Pawn in 2005, he became their permanent vocalist ever since. It has also occurred to FTP that in an age of transition in opinions, their may be somewhat both of interest and of benefit in noting the successive phases of any mind which has always been pressing forward, equally ready to learn and to unlearn either from their own mistakes or those from others.
Summer of 2008 Keiji Shibata departed from the band due to personal reasons as well, but soon after his departure Evan Buksbaum has joined FTP as our permanent guitar player. From The Pawn does not for a moment imagine that any part of what they have to relate can be ignored. Their songs are performed as narratives with melodies that flow from past events of pain, anger, belittlement, and neglect. However FTP has thought that in an age when moral depreciation is of second nature, that their is a good heart that we all just have forgotten.
FTP has chiseled their epithet into the hearts of all metal and hardcore pride, never forgetting where they came from, and the foundations that molded them into what they are today. From The Pawn's goal is to portray a positive outlook from the negative events that occur in everyday life. Creating music without limiting themselves to the boundaries of fitting into a specific category/genre.
FTP's diverse mixture of influences enabled them to create a tight, agressive, thick melodic guitar sound that gained them access to opening slots for such national acts such as Shai Halud, The Warriors Haste The Day, Terror, Black My Heart, The Red Chord, Cephalic Carnage, Mychildren MyBride, Alove For Enemies, On Broken Wings, Emmure, Bury Your Dead, With Blood Comes Cleansing, Sown In Tears, Dead To Fall, Stray From The Path , Anterrabe, CDC, Embrace Today, Swear To God, Too Pure To Die, Stick To Your Guns, Buck Nasty!, Dr. Acula, XBaracadiaX, No Wings To Speak Of, Catelpsy, Paddock Park, and Endwell.
Curently in the process of writing their new album yet to be named, they plan on recording in early summer. In the meantime they will be doing a spring tour, which will be their 5th full us tour. make sure you keep a lookout for them coming to your town very soon!
