Writing a biography. Where do you start? At the beginning seems like a good point. For this beginning, we have to track back to the year 2009. 20 May of that year to be more specific. All of us were at a gig, without even knowing each other. But life is full of funny coincidences and right there, on that exact day, the idea of forming some sort of old school hardcore band was born. It took a few months though until Get Wise, as it is known today, came to be.

Since the end of 2009 the line-up consists out of Stef (drums), Colin (Guitar), Joris (Bass) and Kristof on vocals. This probably proofs the strength of Hardcoremusic. From not knowing one-another in the middle of 2009 to becoming the best of friends less than 2 years later. Like Tim Mcmahon once pointed out to all of us: “What remains is more than words”.
And what is it we stand for? We choose to not keep our mouth shut to what is important to us. Let it be the constant inner-struggle of every day, let it be the grudge against pop-music, we choose to speak up! In October of 2010 this resulted in a 7-song demo released by Open Up Records and which will be rereleased by the Malaysian label Learn To Trust Records. We’ve been playing as much as possible ever since. In that period we shared the stage with bands such as Terror (us), Backtrack (us), First Blood (us), Bracewar (us), Foundation (us), Reproach (be), Coke Bust (us), Broken Teeth (uk), Touche Amore (us), Downpresser (us), Cornered (nl), Born From Pain (nl) and many more.
All of these experiences have made us the band we are today, still hungry and on the lookout to expand these experiences. Whether it’s on the floor of some old, dusty youth Centre or on a big stage in front of hundreds of people, we’ll give it our all. As Get Wise goes on, the search for inner peace continues.
Keep the faith
