Graffiti 6 is a collaboration between Jamie Scott and Tommy D. Tommy D has worked with music giants such as Kayne West, Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson. While Jamie has had personal success across Europe and Asia and has worked with the likes of Ron Sexsmith and toured with Alicia Keys among others. With Jamie’s background as a singer/songwriter and Tommy’s dance and DJ roots, it seemed an unlikely mix. However, when Jamie went to Tommy’s studio in early summer 2008 to play each other a few ideas, it soon became clear their fusion of influences was creating something they both loved working on. The duo continued to record, more for the enjoyment of what they were doing than anything else. The two spent the next six months writing with each other realising it was an opportunity to merge their influences and try to create something different. Evolved from a folk guitar riff, mixed with Tommy’s left of centre production, Stare Into the Sun was created... and Graffiti 6 was born. The Sun Newspaper picked up on Stare into the Sun and inadvertently on Graffiti 6 and have since synced the track to their summer ad campaign even though as yet Graffiti 6 are unsigned.
