The two teamed up with close friend and bassist Brad Amorosino and were joined by drummer Mark Castillo, formerly of Massachusetts-based band Piecemeal. Complimented by vocalist Vin Tiu, who had formerly worked with the guitarists, Hamartia immediately set to work on a host of new songs, utilizing the various elements of metal and hardcore to create their sound.

1) Hamartia were a metalcore band from Connecticut, USA. Hamartia were formed by guitarists Jeff and Jay in January of 2000. The two teamed up with close friend and bassist Brad Amorosino and were joined by drummer Mark Castillo, formerly of Massachusetts-based band Piecemeal. Complimented by vocalist Vin Tiu, who had formerly worked with the guitarists, Hamartia immediately set to work on a host of new songs, utilizing the various elements of metal and hardcore to create their sound. After numerous shows in the local area, Hamartia recorded a three song demo in August of that year. Brad left to pursue his original interest as a guitarist, and the band was then completed by Brendan MacDonnald, former guitarist of the Western Massachusetts band Ehnare.
The band recorded one full-length, 'To Play the Part', before disbanding.
Members went on to start With Honor and Bury Your Dead.
2) Hamartia is a four-piece heavy psychedelic rock band from Tampere, Finland. Hamartia paints the psychedelic atmosphere with hypnotic riffs that are followed by a wall of ferocious guitar noise. The songs possess surprising twists and turns and the intense live experience is filled with attitude.
3) Hamartia is a rock trio from Bristol, UK.
