Portland, Oregon - (May 2, 2009) - Holding Out, a rock/pop group based out of Portland, Oregon, has released their new 10-track LP album “Playing in the Rain”. The album, produced by long-time industry professional, Tim Ellis, was mixed and mastered at Kung Fu Bakery Recording Studio. "Holding Out has the perfect combination of rock passion, great groove, and exceptional vocal delivery,” adds Tim. This independent band looks forward to getting the album in the hands of new and old fans alike. Holding Out came to Portland in 2006, excited to become a part of its vibrant music scene. And now, with this new album, the group is eager to further extend the reach of their music, in the anticipation that it will connect with new fans on a personal level. “We can’t wait to present our new album in our upcoming shows. We want to use the momentum of the album to further broaden the influence of our music,” says one band member. Scott brings a blues-based, 70’s-style rock to the table, while Kelly brings in an acoustic, folk-style rock. Both leaders have an incredibly exciting and comfortable stage presence and their well-crafted, powerful vocal styles combine together to make natural and inspiring harmonies. Even Jen lends a hand with some background harmonies, giving the group a full vocal style that is a unique trait to have in their genre.
