How the West Was Won is a Hardcore/Metal Band from Canby, Oregon. The band includes five people who love music and all come from different musical tastes and backrounds. These differences are what have created the sound that is, How the West Was Won. How The West Was Won is based in Portland, Oregon. The founding band members came together in 2010 in Canby, Oregon where the band originated from. After changing members around they named their outfit How The West Was Won in the Summer of 2011. Since releasing a single through Goat Shed Recording Studios and two demos with Stand Alone Recordings, besides playing numerous shows since their first exposure in October 2011, How The West Was Won is continuing to develop it's unique sound and style. The band has just released its first self titled EP with the help of Neil Engle (Alesana, Sleeping with Sirens, DanceGavinDance) from Goat Shed Recording Studios.
