Jeremiah Clark was a pupil of Henry Purcell. One of his works is his Suite in D.
Part of the Suite in D is Rondeau (The Prince of Denmark's March). This piece is almost identical with Trumpet Voluntary attributed to Purcell. Similarly, Clark's Trumpet Tune again attributed to Purcell is indistinguishable. In other words, in my humble opinion, some of Purcell's work has to be viewed with suspicion. The two pieces I have mentioned seem to be close copies of the other. Who 'cribbed' from the other?
