Joshua Morrisson grew up in a small town Northeast of Seattle, tucked in below the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. Music has always been a comfort to him. As a child, his mother dragged him to the symphony while his father did his best to expose him to his own mix of the Moody Blues, Glenn Campbell, and everything in between.
At 15, he bought a $50 guitar from a friend and took lessons for about a year or two. With his driver's license came frequent trips to Seattle to see local bands like Pedro the Lion, Rocky Votolato, and Death Cab.

He joined the Army in early 2004 after accruing his fair share of student loans. In college, he mostly played at small coffee shops and bars in the Puget Sound area. Nearly three years in the Army have led him to a greater appreciation of many things, music certainly being one of them. he plays and records whenever he can, scribble lyrics on notepads when he can't.
He wrote most of his songs after returning from Iraq in 2005. At the time, he was stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington, 15 minutes away from the hospital where he was born. Five months in Iraq away from family, friends, and his guitar led to plenty of nights hunched over an old 4-track recorder after he returned in January. He was fortunate enough to get some time in a small studio before moving to North Carolina in January of 2006. Later this fall He'll be flying back to Seattle to record again.
