Little Horns is the long-awaited musical collaboration of identical twins Leah and Vanessa Hayes.
Born to a musical family north of Boston, the girls have been singing and playing together since they could talk. Both attended school in New York City and Paris, playing music constantly along the way: including an all-girl group with artist Lisa Li Lunde, and collaborating with French folk darlings Herman Dune. When they eventually moved to separate cities (Leah staying in NYC while Vanessa moved to Boston), they pursued solo projects.

Leah began Scary Mansion, born out of the Antifolk scene of the East Village (playing alongside Kimya Dawson, Adam Green, Regina Spektor, etc) while Vanessa went on to play under her own name, while also touring with Scary Mansion and adding her lush vocals to the ensemble. Vanessa has shared the stage with Brown Bird, Tigersaw, Michael Leviton, to name a few. Scary Mansion has played and toured with Sharon Van Etten, Kyp Malone from TV On The Radio, and many others. Both girls have very distinct styles, but have never come together as a duo until now.
In 2010 the girls sat down to write their first album together, and the result is a powerful, dreamy, dance record. Taking influence from Active Child, La Roux, Robyn, Sinead O’Connor, and Low, their songs convey a sadness in the lyrics, mixed with a pumping enthusiasum and sometimes-dance, sometimes-hip-hop beats. Leah and Vanessa are artists as well as musicians- Vanessa is a graphic designer, and Leah works as a freelance editorial illustrator.
