The band's sound is reminiscent of their label mates The 13th Floor Elevators and The Golden Dawn, as well as Love and Bob Dylan. 2.) LOST AND FOUND is also [also] a band (albeit a small band of just two people) that has been travelling around the world and performing their original music since they were in high school (or skipping it) together. They started out travelling by bicycles (riding 8,500 miles around the USA one year) and playing wherever they were welcomed. Often, they were welcomed at churches, camps, colleges and schools. And so, these are the kinds of places they still perform.
Their music is a blend of punk and folk: it is the people's music. It's organic, energetic, creative, simple, catchy and unique. Their lyrics are friendly, insightful, encouraging, hopeful and questioning. Their work is informed by their faith--but it would be incorrect, even unfair, to label them a "Christian Band." That is, this label, which some have tried to attach to LOST AND FOUND, is far too limiting and it conjures up certain images--both positive and negative--among the uninformed, those who might be inclined to jump to conclusions before they get to know LOST AND FOUND.
They are one of the most unique bands touring today in any genre of music. They perform about 150 days a year while steadfastly avoiding the musical-industrial complex and the industry in general. They guard their independence and view it as a good thing not to be encumbered by a major record label. So, you won't hear them on the radio or find their CDs at Wal-Mart or Target. But you can find them on iTunes and CD Baby. Or, even better, come and see them in concert and then consider how you would describe them.
3) .) Lost & Found is the solo project of 25 year old Gerhard Olivier, a Cape Town based producer who is fast establishing himself as a serious international artist. Ever since his first release on Afrogalactic records at the end of 2005, Gerhard has had a restlessly innovative urge to forge something new. His music has evolved into a more structured, futuristic form of psytrance that reconciles the depth and psychedelic edges of his powerful style with a more dynamic, vivid edge. Fast becoming known for his memorable live sets, he subtly alters his sound to tailor-make each set, rendering each one unique. In the South African scene Gerhard has built himself quite a reputation for sending dancefloors into a total frenzy. The sound of Lost & Found is characterized by a complex fusion of relentless groove, industrial percussion, deep atmospheres and searing leads.. Always hi-tech and always driving. In August 2006 he released an album together with Xatrik under the guise of Multistate on Timecode records called “Collaborating with Machines”, which was very well received. He is now focusing on his solo project and recently signed with 3D Vision Records. In June 2011, Gerhard released his debut album 'Decoder" on 3D Vision Records and got great reviews from all over the world. At this moment in time he is hard at work on his second album.
4) Lost & Found is an Oi! band from Germany. They released their debut album Verloren Geglaubt... in 2014 on Feindkontakt Produktion.
