There are two artists called Mark Ryan:
1) An experimental blues poet from Southampton, England
2) H.A. Der-Hovagimian (sometimes spelled Ter-Hovakimyan) born in Toronto, Canada, is a Canadian-Armenian music composer, songwriter and producer.
He signed his first recording contract with the newly found Hi-Bias Records imprint at the age of 17. Since then, he’s been mainly credited under the pseudonym Mark Ryan.
For years, his main focus was his Temperance project. Starting out as a solo techno project, and later crossing over into a more commercial pop dance sound, the group (which consisted of Mark and schoolmate Lorraine Reid on vocals) won numerous top ten hits, awards, and licenses worldwide. By 19, Mark's successful remix work led to Billboard Magazine naming him one of the top remixers from Canada. In 1996, Temperance peaked with its hi-nrg cover version of the 1980’s hit Forever Young.
In 1997, after the releases of S.P.O.T. (Side Project of Temperance) and the Temperance single Universal Dream, Mark parted ways to launch 22 Green Productions, primarily focusing on producing and remixing various local and international artists.
Over the years, he’s been credited with producing and/or remixing close to 200 commercially released titles in various genres under various aliases. Since 1997, the title 22 Green continues to be used for the name of his remix works, and most recently, he has started replacing his credited pseudonym Mark Ryan with DerHova (a variation of his real name.)
His song "Qele Qele" performed by Sirusho was Armenia's entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008. DerHova composed the song, thought up the title and produced the song which ranked 4th overall (out of 43 participating countries) scoring 199 points, and received the most 12 points in the competition.
