Micah has been turning heads and drawing lofty comparisons the past year, on the heels of his debut, independently-released EP "Down Like Hail" in January 2011. He is creating a restive anticipation for the forthcoming followup album, with his first national tour under his belt, along with a handful of soulful festival performances around the west coast.
In March, he won the 2011 OC Music Awards Best Live Acoustic Award, lighting the torch for a busy and productive year. In recent months, Micah has shared the bill with Ben Harper, Weezer, The Dirty Heads, G. Love, Ziggy Marley, Trevor Hall, Anuhea, and Seedless, among many others.
He also landed a supporting role on Tomorrow's Bad Seeds and The Mike Pinto Band's U.S. summer tours, as well as guest contributions on new tracks by The Dirty Heads and TBS, and a feature on the World-Famous KROQ's website.
"Brown definitely has a deeply ingrained star quality that is evident to all of his loyal fans." (Nadia Noir - KROQ.com)
Micah's music blends his early influences of folk, rock, and blues, and fluidly invokes the native sounds of Southern California punk and reggae, to create a fresh, eclectic twist on the singer-songwriter sound.
"Although Brown has a modern, almost-folksy vocal styling, he balances out the well-pitched cool of his voice with scorching-hot guitar riffs reminiscent of Delta Blues greats Robert Johnson or John Lee Hooker." (KROQ/Noir)
Micah co-produces and releases his project of original music with producer Lewis Richards (credits include Sublime, Slightly Stoopid, Dirty Heads) from 17th Street Recording Studios in Costa Mesa.
Stay tuned into the latest news for updates on touring and the new record that will be available in Spring of 2012.
