[Zb]Morlocks (no defintive article) is a Swedish electronic industrial band from Gothenburg. Constant member is J. Strauss (Lead vox, keyboards, trumpet, programming, graphix), and the last decaded Innocentius Rabiatus (lead guitars, programming, backing vox) and Logos (keyboards, guitars, programming, back vox).
They began in the late 80's as an ebm act with gothic industrial influences, heavily influenced by Illuminatus mythos (as described by Robert Shea and Robert Anton Wilson). They selfproduced tapes and cd's, played regional gigs and participated on a few compilation albums until they split in 2003. They released one album cd ... For Your Pleasure? in 2001.
Until around 2010 J Strauss then reinvented the band with Innocentus Rabiatus of Dark Side Cowboys as a heavier industrial rock band, eventually also recruiting Lamashtu on bass and Reverend Grudge on keyboards. Morlocks has released three successful cds since reforming, eventually ending up on the legendary Metropolis Records rooster.
They befriended KMFDM in the 2010s, produced and remixed for each other and Morlocks supported them on tour in 2024s and also opened for Die Krupps in 2024.
J. Strauss passed away march 1:st in 2026.
