1. Mountaineer is the moniker used by Dutch singer, songwriter and musician Marcel Hulst, who is based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Having released an album with his band Maggie Brown (2014), he started recording his acoustic songs for the Mountaineer project, making a slightly psychedelic kind of indie folk or americana. Mountainer released three albums: 1974 (2015), Lewis & Clark (2022) and Country Dragon (2026).

2. Mountaineer is a Copenhagen, Denmark-based post-hardcore band. They released their self-titled debut EP in August 2013.
3. Mountaineer started as the project of German singer and songwriter Henning Wandhoff but soon after the release of his first album Sunny Day (2003) he began looking out for collaborators, especially in taking his epic songs into the live environment. After a few years and a few line-up changes he was eventually left with the crack team of Katja Raine, Fiona Mckenzie, Anna Bertermann and Alexander Rischer. Two more albums followed, but after The Real McQueen (2011) Mountaineer quietly disappeared.
4. Mountaineer from Oakland, CA, United States is a five piece band that plays a dreamy take on the post-rock genere incorporated with hints of doom/sludge/shoegaze. With members and ex-members hailing from acts like Secrets of the Sky, Lycus and Lament Cityscape released a self-titled EP.
