People With Accents is a duo from Portland, Oregon consisting of Jacob Saulsbury on drums, and Alex McEntee on guitar and vocals. Their song structures are usually dense and linear, drawing influences primarily from jazz, math rock, progressive rock. Comparisons have been disparate, having been likened to artists such as Slint, The Minutemen, Karate, The Mahavishnu Orchestra, Pavement and Frank Zappa.
Prior to this band, the two had primarily played in hardcore-influenced bands together (see: Holy Illuminated Man of God).
