When I was growing up my dad always played Hip-Hop music in the house and in his car which sparked my interest in the genre in general. It was around the age of 11 when I started writing raps as a means of impressing my friends but soon stopped for no apparent reason. Around the age of 15 I met a guy who re-sparked my interest in music and got me interested in actually stepping behind a microphone. I had moments in the adolescent period of my life where my topics held no merit and were often falsified, but I had a literal overnight change on my idea of my rap music. I felt I could actually say something meaningful and speak on relevant topics through music. So one day I wrote down a list of random emcees (Lupe, Common, Mos Def, Talib Kweli to name a few) and asked my dad to get me copies of their albums. I then studied their topics and ways of relaying their messages through rap, and from there I took it a lot more seriously and continued writing and pushing out more music. Overtime I began to build relationships through music and started doing collaborations with artists across the nation. I’d go on to connect with De’Vine, Prote’J, and Complex through the internet and some dope music being released from all sides. One day while driving home from school I called De’Vine and told her about a vision I had for a collection of artists I respect and admire. She gathered Rejean and J Felicity while I spoke to Complex and Prote’J. From there, Forevermore was born as a group of individuals with an interest in making great and respectable music.
