Plum Sutra evolved out of a Zen meditation friendship in spring, 2008. Seth Kinzie (Piano, from the NW) and Linton Wright (Drums, from Crimson Tide Alabama) looked to unfold the rich instrumental repetition of novelty and emotion. They gelled immediately in their fusion of rock, jazz, and soundscapes which illustrate different ideas, feelings, and animals over lush, varied instrumentation. They are now joined by a Connor Wade, an accomplished violinist from Idaho. Based in Portland, Plum Sutra just finished recording their debut album at Primary Records. Plum Sutra's chief influences are Radiohead, Do Make Say Think, and Nickelback. Seth Kinzie has been called, "The Beethoven of Pianists" while Linton is regularly mistaken for the living ghost of John Bonham, who died. Trumpeter Connor Wade was found guilty by the Dong Society of the Pacific Northwest for having the largest 'boondonglizer' of all the other Dongists -- his family is unavailable to comment on his dong status.
