Some artists use politics to advance their art. Jared Paul is one of the few who has made a name for himself by using art to advance his politics. Whether you know Jared Paul for his activism, music, performance poetry or legal troubles, he has been involved with Strange Famous Records since its inception. In 2009, it will all come full circle with the release of his band’s debut album, the self-titled “Prayers for Atheists.” With Jared’s roots being equally punk rock and hip-hop, the sound of his Prayers for Atheists band is a strange hybrid of 80’s hardcore punk and politically slanted hip-hop. With his PFA partner Alan Hague handling all instrument duty (guitar, bass and drums,) Jared has finally been given the platform for which his message can be delivered musically and with force. The launchpad is set and the seed has been planted…expect blast off soon.
