Rachel Wagner is a Northern California based singer-songwriter with quiet energy and honest, lyrical passion. Rachel’s newish album, “When We’re There I’ll Let You Know”, displays a wide range of musical intensity ranging from sparse, intimate, piano led ballads, to solid, full band tracks. During the Fall of 2008 Rachel completed a Northern California Borders Bookstore Tour in an attempt to promote her album. More often than not, no one showed up to hear her sing …but sometimes people did!
Rachel decided to take this as an encouragement to continue. She fondly recalls the warm reception she received at the Borders in Roseville CA, her hometown. She also fondly remembers being bumped out of another unnamed town’s Border’s café and into the stationary department where she sang to the brightly colored papers and envelopes.
Whether she is singing to a packed house, or a room of empty chairs, Rachel is true to her songs, and true to herself. She delivers a genuine performance, creating an atmosphere in which her listeners feel as comfortable as if they were in her living room. She is steadily finding her audience and to date, has given out five autographs in all.
Rachel is currently looking forward to a small Summer 2009 Northwestern tour. She, her husband Jon, and the three kids are packing things up into the mini-van for a couple of weeks, towing their shiny teardrop trailer and heading out to coffee shops and pubs in Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Montana. Rachel hopes that a few people find her along the way, and in the meantime, continues to call to the back of the mini-van: “when we’re there, I’ll let you know!”
