Hot off the heels of well-attended shows with bands like Royal Teeth and Dire Wood, Rareluth just released a free demo. Now, the band is looking to the future, but is in no rush to see the fruits of its labor.
"We did [the demo] really quick," Peirce said. "That was our first step, getting that out. We plan on spreading out, playing show outside of Lafayette. Hopefully, we can get enough attention and do some tours. A record isn't our biggest concern. It's something we'd love to do, but whenever we make a record, we want to capture the essence of the band."
That essence is that magical mysticism Peirce revels in discussing. With each live show, they want to cast a wider, more enchanting spell, peppering an interesting cover here and there in the set. Some shows have featured the band's take of songs by My Bloody Valentine, Britney Spears and Radiohead.
