There are at least three bands using this name:
1. Slam Dunk's format of catchy sing-a-longs and genre-busting breakdowns, built without a theme, will induce a cosmic and slobbering attendance to any dance hall booked. They will show up late, play short sets, eat your food, and sleep in your bed. Nothing but fun will come of it, and you will wake up throbbing weeks after, jonesin' for another round of THE DUNK!
Their self-titled 7" was released as a joint effort by Old Life Records and Fan Club Music Club in February of 2010.

2. Slam Dunk is a hip-hop/hardcore band from Kansas City MO that debuted at Conerstone Festival 2007. The two members, John-o and Ian, meant it as joke, but it turned out that people started taking it seriously and during the three shows they played the crowds increased into the hundreds. It has been rumored that they will make a reunion at Cornerstone 08, but this has yet to be validated. You can find Slam Dunk on Myspace. So go and tell them to keep it going.
The group was given a reality check when Atlantic records reps approached them about their music. They at this point in time turned it down. They released a demo of their music including a cover of the Blink 182 "damnit".
3. SLAM DUNK! is a noise band from New Brunswick, NJ that uses lo-fi field recordings to recreate the Silent Hill soundtrack.
